TFA Warriors
Chapter 14

An eternity seemed to have passed in the mere moments Sari stood staring at the fallen star in wonder. Though she knew not what the gleaming, black stone was, the little kitten felt it through ever fiber of her body that it was the thing that had been calling to her. There was something special about it.

"You fell from the sky didn't you?" Sari commented lifting her ruby eyes up at the giant hole in the ceiling. How could it have gotten up here? Even if the stone was about her size, it didn't look like there was housefolk around this place that would bring it up here.

Timidly, the tan and red furred kitten edged a little closer to the mysterious object. Her tiny ears pricked. Were there voices come from it? Sari could barely make out some strange whispers echoing from the black stone. How was that possible?

"Is there someone here?" She called out loud. The attic itself let out an echoing creak and a few bats fluttering from their roost. Sari frowned and turned back to the stone. It seemed to glow and shimmer in the patch of sunlight, almost as if it were…

"Are you alive?" she asked. Was it possible for a stone to be alive? If it wasn't then where were the strange voices coming from. "Hello?" Sari inched closer until her furry face was a whisker-length away from the fallen star's surface. Her pink nose touched the cool, black rock and every suddenly lit up before her eyes.

Sari let out a squeak of fright and stumbled backwards, falling on her butt in the process. She stared; red eyes wide with amazement, as the fallen star lit up with a blue-white light that filled the entire room. In the midst of the light, shadow-like figures began to follow. One of the shadow figures began to pad forwards. As it came closer, Sari saw that the figure was a beautiful grey and white she-cat with starlight shining within her transparent fur.

"Hello, dearest one."  The beautiful shining cat purred.

Sari gasped and stared. That voice…it was the same voice she heard in her head while crossing the road! The little kitten looked into the she-cat's striking red eyes.

"You're the butterfly, aren't you?" Sari asked, standing up on all four paws, "The one that was with me today."

The ghostly she-cat's ruby eyes lit up with love and laughter.

"Sometimes I'm the butterfly." She softly purred. "But I'm always with you no matter what."

"Who are you?" That was the only thing Sari could think to ask.

"I am Eternalscream, warrior of StarClan." Eternalscream meowed. For a moment, Sari caught a strange gleam in the StarClan warrior's eyes, but it quickly flickered out. "StarClan has been waiting for you."

"What is StarClan?" Sari asked, blinking in confusion. "Why were they waiting for me?"

"Because, dearest one," Eternalscream meowed, leaning down until her breath came warm and sweet upon Sari's fur. "StarClan chose you to bear a gift."

The StarClan warrior pressed her nose against the top of Sari's head. Instantly, Sari's body felt as though it was on fire. The collar around her neck began to glow with white-hot light and images of strange cats flashed throughout Saris' mind- lean, powerful cats with blue eyes that shone with the light of the wild and claws that gleamed with savage strength. These were not the house cats that Sari knew- these were wildcats!

"Seek out the forest cats." A voice that was not one, but many whispered into Sari's ear as the pain and light subsided. "And lead them to StarClan's fallen light." Like water overflowing from an overturned leaf, the voices, the light, the overpowering energy drained out of her, leaving the small kit feeling hollow and confused.

The attic returned to its semi-darkness state, with only the sunlight from the gaping hole in the cellar and the circular glass lighting up the deserted place. Now that the voices were silent and the gleam had died, the fallen star looked just like an ordinary rock. However, Sari knew different. The memory of glowing light and the star-pelted warrior was still fresh in the kitten's mind.

"I'm guessing this is StarClan's fallen light." Sari meowed out loud, fixing her ruby gaze on the fallen star. She briefly wondered whether it would start glowing again like before. It would have been nice to speak with Eternalscream for a little longer. Where all StarClan cats that beautiful and nice?

The kitten then cocked her head to one side, eyes narrowed in deep puzzlement. "But who are the forest cats she was talking about?" The only other cat she knew was her father and Sumdac was definitely no forest cat! There had to be some forest cats somewhere…..if she could find a forest…whatever that was.

Sari stood up with whiskers twitching with steely determination. Even if she didn't know what a forest was or where to find forest cats, she knew that Eternalscream and StarClan were counting on her.

"Don't worry, StarClan, I'll find those forest cats no matter what!" Sari proclaimed as loudly as she could, hoping that the shadowy cats could hear her from the rock, "Even if I have to cross a thousand streets, I'll find them and bring them here. I promise!"

When she turned to head back down the staircase, Sari suddenly realized that her pawsteps were greeted with silence. What happened to the tinkling sound the bell on her collar made whenever she took a pawstep?

She looked down at her collar and let out a gasp.

The golden bell that was once attached to her collar was gone and in its place was a smooth round stone- one the exact same color as the fallen star.

"Is the coast clear?"

Bumblebee stuck his head out from behind the wheels of a large car and took a quick glance around. Satisfied, he looked over his shoulders and let out a meow.

"It's BloodClan free!"

The little WindClan warrior took a pawstep back and allowed Optimus to pad out from their hiding place behind a yellow Twoleg monster and take his place in the lead. He was closely followed by the rest of the group, Prowl skulking in the rear with a sour expression on his face.

"Hiding behind Twoleg objects like rats, running away from enemies," Prowl's voice was filled with disgust as he droned on, "this is not the way of a clan warrior!"

"Clan warriors have to be smart and adaptable, Prowl." Optimus countered, blue eyes narrowed in slight annoyance. "We don't know how to get around the Twolegplace unseen like BloodClan does. We're at a heavy disadvantage here plus, BloodClan outnumbers us, even with Megatron dead." He paused at the edge of the sidewalk and took a quick glance at both directions of the black Thunderpath. There was no monster in sight.

"Do we really have to go across?" Bumblebee fearfully asked. Behind the yellow warriors, Bulkhead nodded in agreement. Optimus turned to face them and saw by the terrified looks on their faces that they were still spooked by what happened to Megatron. If the two young warriors had been scared of crossing the Thunderpath before, how terrified must they be after seeing one of the most powerful warriors being struck down while crossing?

"I don't want to cross any more than you do, guys, but we have to get as far away from BloodClan as we can and this might slow them down." Optimus explained. He lifted his head and focused his gaze on the sight of house roofs on the other side. "We can also take Max up for his offer and spend the night in the yard before heading out."

"WHAT?!" Prowl's black tail lashed out in outrage. "We're going to that kittypet for help?" His icy blue eyes were narrowed into angry slits as he glared at Optimus. "Have you forgotten the Warrior Code?"

"Prowl, we don't ha…"

"I know," Prowl growled, cutting him off. "You said it a hundred times- we don't have a choice….according to you." The ShadowClan cat shoved Optimus aside and padded across the Thunderpath, turning his back to the rest of the cats.

The rest of the cats looked up to Optimus, waiting for his instructions. He was happy to see a hint of sympathy in Ratchet's eyes. At least the loyal, wise medicine cat seemed to understand his frustration with Prowl. Why couldn't Prowl see that they were out of their element here? Already they had gained enemies here in the Twolegplace. Didn't he see the sense in gaining allies as well? At least Max would offer them a safe haven to rest until they were ready to head out again.

"Let's go." He ordered, speedily padding across the hard black surface with his team mates close behind. When they reached the other side, Prowl was there, but his back was turned his teammates and he wouldn't speak but gave them cold glares instead.

"Jeez, who stuck a thorn up his butt?" Optimus heard Bumblebee whisper to Bulkhead. In a louder voice, he asked, "Hey, boss-cat, you think there's going to be food in that kittypet's yard?"

"There'll be a squirrel or two." Ratchet answered Bumblebee for Optimus.

Bumblebee stumbled in surprise and stared at the medicine cat. "How do you know?"

Ratchet gave the three younger warriors a wryly grin. "Believe it or not, medicine cats have their share of adventures too." He let out a deep sigh and heaved himself forward, keeping a steady pace besides Optimus. "This won't be the first time I ended up in a Twoleg yard. The way things are going now, it won't be the last."

The forest cats continued padding down the sidewalk, now in silence. Prowl was still walking a few feet in front of the rest, purposely distancing himself from the other clan cats. It was clear that he was angry at all of them for choosing to listen to Optimus' suggestion of taking shelter in the kittypet yard. The others let him be, knowing that it would do no good talking to him when it was clear that it would just end in another argument.

Suddenly Bumblebee stopped.

Bulkhead paused and looked over his massive green shoulder to see that his buddy had froze in his tracks, yellow ears flickering and blue eyes focused.

"Something wrong, little buddy?"

"I'm…not sure." Bumblebee didn't even snap at Bulkhead for calling him little. The WindClan warrior flicked his left ear and seemed to be listening for something. "Do you guys hear something?"

Up ahead, Optimus and had Ratchet had halted and turned back to the young warriors. Optimus called out to Prowl. "Hold up, Prowl! Something's up."

The ShadowClan warrior paused for a couple seconds, as if considering whether to listen or not, and then finally turned and stared at them, whiskers twitching in obvious, but silent, agitation.

"What do you hear, Bumblebee?" Optimus asked, stepping closer to the smaller cat.

Bumblebee's ear continued to twitch as if a fly was buzzing around it and squinted his blue eyes in concentration. "I dunno…I could have sworn I heard…"

The distant sound of growls and barks slowly reached the cats and made their fur stand up in fear and surprise.

"Dog!" Bulkhead yelped out in fear. Though it was rare to actually see one in the forest, all the clan cats knew how dangerous dogs were. The elder cats and senior warriors always told stories of times when a dog would away from his Twoleg and cause chaos for the cats of the forest.

"It's a good distance off." Prowl spoke for the first time. The ShadowClan warrior had raised his head and his black ears stood erect and sharp, listening for the dog. "By the sound of it, it's heading in the opposite direction."

Everyone let out a breath of relief. However, it was short-lived.

A squeal of pure terror rose into the air like a bird's cry, coming from the same direction as the dog.

Bumblebee's eyes grew large with shock.

"That's a kitten's voice!"
I'm sincerely sorry that all I have is this sucky chapter to give to you guys. I know all of you have been waiting ages for updates on my art and story and I apologize for having you wait so long. Life has been extremely hectic for me at the moment so I haven't had time to color or type much of anything (besides school related stuff). :(

I again apologize to all my watchers for the lack of stuff. Hopefully, thinks will lighten up soon.

Until then, try to enjoy the sucky-halfass chapter. Next one will be better, I swear! It'll have August and Brian....AND MESSED UP MEGATRON....ON A SHOVEL!
