Sari stared up at Blurr's faceplate; the spy's pale blue eyes were gazing into hers, brimming with hopefulness and quiet determination. Did he really believe that she could bring Bumblebee back? How could he be able to radiate any sense of hope when she herself couldn't? Bumblebee's spark was gone. Even if she could heal his body, would his spark, the very essense of life, still be there? Would he still be Bumblebee.....

Or would he just be a robot?

"I'm not sure if I can do it, Blurr." Sari quietly admitted. She shifted her grief-stricken gaze from Blurr to Bumblebee's lifeless form. The pain of the simple gesture was evident upon the expresson on her face. There was almost shame in her voice as whispered, "What if...what if he's not the same?"

Blurr said nothing at first and only gave her a sad, sympathtic smile. He did not need to ask what she meant. He knew because the fear was his as well.

"Well...we'll never know unless we try, can we?" He slowly replied.

Sari drew her eyes away from Bee and stared up at Blurr. Without warning, she let out a small cry and threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his waist into a hug.

Blurr's fateplace lit up with surprise at the sudden, tender gesture. Such an expression of affection like a hug was foreign to Cybertronians. They knew nothing of emotional embraces that organics valued so much. However, Blurr had spent enough time on Earth to understand its meaning and of its emotional importance.

Hesitantly at first, Blurr brought his arms around Sari's thin form and returned the embrace. The speedster was amazed by the warmth that spread through his circuits from his spark. Was it the gesture itself that warmed his spark or the one he giving it to?

Blurr offlined his optics and banished the thought from his processor. It did not matter. All that mattered was bond that he and Sari had formed at this moment, forged by their shared grief and the hope that they could make it better. Thus, ignited their spark of friendship.

When Sari drew away from Blurr's embrace, her face had lost its emptiness and held Sari's familar glimmer of determination.

"Thanks." She told Blurr. Once again, no explanation was needed. Blurr understood. "May you watch over Shockwave for me?"

Blurr smiled and lifted his servo into a swift salute. "Rightaway!"

Feeling more like a hero than he had felt in a thousand megacycles, the elite agent stood a few feet away from Sari and turned his back toward her to glare intensely at Shockwave's offline form. His optics were narrowed and his body was rigid with tension; he looked like a lithe blue cheetah ready to pounce at any moment. To Sari, he looked every inch a proud soldier.

However, Sari had her own purpose as well. She knelt down besides Bumblebee's still form and, on impulse, placed her hand on his grey faceplate. There was not a flicker of life. Fighting back the lump that had risen in her throat, she leaned forward until her and Bumblebee's foreheads touched.

"Where ever you are, Bumblebee, I'll find you." she solemnly promised. Her eyes closed as she breathed, "...even if it kills me."

If Blurr had heard her thoughtful oath, he made no sign or gesture of it. Perhaps, he realized that his part in Bumblebee's rescue was done. It was up to Sari now to bring Bumblebee back now. Hers was probably the most difficult one.

Sari finished her promise with a light kiss on his cold headplate- a gesture of pure love and affection that lasted no more than a heartbeat. She straightened her body and shivered, as if bracing herself, and placed the palms of her hands on his chest, right his Autobot symbol.

"Please let this work..." she prayed as she closed her eyes and was suddenly engulfed by light.

Though she couldn't see it, she could feel her own spark giving off waves of warmth and light that spread throughout her body, traveling from her sparkchamber, through her arms, her hands, her fingertips, and into Bee's broken body. His armor was molding together, his circuits reconnecting, his body healing....

"But what about his spark?" Sari innerly screamed. How would she be able to find it? To bring it back? ""Where ever Bumblebee is, take me there!" She didn’t know who she was speaking to, but whoever was there, listened.

The techno-organic hybrid felt her mind suddenly become disconnected with the rest of her. A sensation of her floating away from the ground filled her. Sari then felt a wave of coldness wash over her as if she had jumped into an ice-cold lake and then nothing but darkness and silence. She desperately wanted to open her eyes but felt as if she couldn’t, as if they didn’t belong to her.

Then the silence and coldness erupted into pain.

Sari wanted to scream as an agonizing pain shot through her, particularly through her chest. Her mind exploded with flashes of images and emotions that did not belong to her.

A mountain of trash and garbage….a faint blue glow….a crushed metal cube….realization…horrible realization…he murdered him…SHOCKWAVE MURDERED BLURR!”

Sari realized in shock that she was somehow revisiting Bumblebee’s memories, probably his most recent ones. This was when he found Blurr.

Guilt….overbearing guilt….it’s all my fault….everything was my fault….Blurr….Wasp….shouldn’t have been tricked...He has to be stopped….”

“No!” Sari’s inner voice cried thought it was drowned out by the intensity of the memories and emotions that surrounded her. “It wasn’t you’re fault, Bee!” She couldn’t take the anguish that her friend was feeling; even it was only a memory.

Won’t let him hurt them…don’t follow….keep away….I’ll catch him in the act…keep listening…no matter what….

This was when Bee had left her, Optimus, and the rest of the team, Sari was sure of it. Since Ultra Magnus and Sentinel would never allow an organic, even a hybrid, to the chambers of the High Council, she had been left with Blurr’s remains. The desperation and urgency in his thoughts had clearly reflected the look on his face when he sped away from his team.

A dark chamber....Longarm transforming….pain…oh so much pain….a giant claw coming down….crushing him…circuits are on fire….Primus, make the pain stop! A confession…a dark secret unleashed!

Sari could feel Bumblebee’s triumph as he tricked Shockwave into revealing to the entire Autobot Council that he had been the Autobot spy all along. Sari felt Bumblebee’s pride and relief; it was stronger than even the pain of the injuries that Shockwave had inflicted upon him. All would be right now; he had fixed what he had made wrong all those years ago. Sari felt Bumblebee feel at peace knowing that he had righted his wrong.

Then everything went wrong.

The feeling of victory melts away…is replaced with ice-like horror….No…no…no…NO! It can’t be true! None of that can be true! A glowing red orb….a flash of steel…..growing fear…I thought I could make it right!

Bumblebee’s feelings of lost and betrayal were worse than any physical pain that Sari had ever experienced before. She wanted the entire thing to end. How could her friend had suffered though this much before his death? He thought he had failed! Sari couldn’t think it could get any worse. The next wave of memories only confirmed her that it could and it did.

A familiar voice…an ocean of grief…overwhelming love….it’s not fair…it’s not fair…I don’t want to leave….take care of them…a claw slices the air…

Sari opened her mouth to unleash a wordless scream of agony as an explosion of pain erupted inside her. Her mind reels with flashes of light, red as blood and her ears echo with the echo of crackling static.

NO! NO! NO! OPTIMUS! Where are you? Bulkhead? Prowl? Ratchet? Sari? Don’t leave me! I need you! I’m scared. Don’t…go….don’t…..leave….me…alone…..please….

Bumblebee’s yowls of pain and grief fell to a soft whisper until there was only silence that remained. Sari finally was able to open her eyes but there was only a void of darkness surrounding her. Sari’s body felt battered and exhausted; reliving Bumblebee’s last memories seemed to have taken away all her strength. However, the pain her body felt was nothing compared to the great turmoil her heart was going through. Bumblebee’s last thoughts had been filled despair, having to die all alone, believing that he had failed. It just wasn’t fair. Bumblebee had been a brave Autobot all his life…he shouldn’t have had to die like that.

“We should have got there faster. We should have followed you.” Sari declared. Angry tears began to blur her vision as the guilt and grief overwhelmed her. She bowed her head, strands of red hair falling in front of her face. “I’m sorry Bumblebee….I’m so sorry.”

“Sari…”

Sari’s head rose at the sound of a voice. It had been soft, almost like a whisper or a distant voice in the wind.

“Hello?” Who was calling her in the darkness of the emptiness around her?

Suddenly, before her eyes, a space in the black void seemed to tear in midair. A crack of light began to shine through the tear, more brilliant than any light Sari had even seen before. From it flowed endless warmth that burned through her, warming her heart and spirit and leaving a sense of happiness and security behind. Something inside Sari longed to walk towards the glory of light, but something in Sari’s spark told her that if she walked into it, she would never want to leave.

“Well done…” the whispering voice echoed once again. It was coming from the dazzling light.

She shielded her squinted blue eyes with both her arms as the veil of light blazed to its full glory for one last time before suddenly extinguishing back into nothingness. However, it left something behind.

Sari gazed, blue eyes wide with amazement and wonder, at a small orb of yellow light came floating towards her. To Sari, it was like a large firefly. It seemed to flutter side to side and up and down in an almost playful manner. When it got closer, Sari heard it unleash a soft buzzing, and saw that in the center of the golden light, was an orb of pure white sparking static.

Realization dawned upon her.

“You’re a spark aren’t you?” she whispered to it.

The dazzling spark said nothing. Instead, it began to shift its shape: a small triangular head from with two, long winding antennas sprouted forward and from its back erupted two golden wings. It took Sari only a moment to recognize the shape and her heart nearly burst with happiness.

“BUMBLEBEE!” She cried in delight and cupped her hands around the insect of light and static and held it close. Bumblebee’s spark beat against her own spark, emitting waves upon waves of love and joy that equaled to Sari’s own. As Sari held his spark near, she could feel that this was essence of Bumblebee: his courage, his humor, his kindness, his loyalty and honor. No spark but his had enough warmth and light to light up a place as dark as this.

“I’m so glad I found you.” She whispered as she clung to the shining spark. Bumblebee’s spark nuzzled her cheek like a kitten and then began to slowly disappear.

Sari let out a gasp of horror. “No, don’t go!” she cried. The bumblebee-shaped spark gave her a sad glance before completely disappearing and leaving Sari alone in the blackness once more.

“BUMBLEBEE!” Sari shut her eyes and tried to will Bumblebee’s spark back.

“SARI!” Blurr’s sharp voice cracked through the darkness like a jolt of lightning causing Sari’s eyes to fly open. She found herself not in the dark void anymore, but back in the Shockwave’s chamber, leaning over Bumblebee’s body, with Blurr standing over her, staring down at her with an expression of concern on his faceplate.

“Areyouokay?” he speedily asked.

“I….I think so.” Sari replied. She was exhausted beyond belief and felt both physical and emotionally drained, but besides that. “What happened?”

“You screamed out Bumblebee’s name and sort of fainted a second ago.” Blurr answered. The speedster gazed at Bumblebee’s body and quietly said, “You healed up all his wounds. Is he….?” The question hung in the air, but Sari couldn’t answer it right away.

“I’m not sure.” She admitted. Blurr wordlessly settled himself down by Bumblebee’s head and gently brought the young bot close until his head was resting on Blurr’s lap. Sari saw Blurr quietly murmur something to Bee, but there was no response in return. Sari walked over to Blurr’s and Bumblebee’s side and gazed down at Bumblebee’s lifeless body.

It was true that all of Bumblebee’s wounds had been healed. There was not a scratch or dent on him. However, his yellow coloring was still gone. Was that a sign that his spark hadn’t returned? Sari knelt down by his chest and placed a hand on his Autobot symbol.

“Bumblebee, come on. It’s time to wake up. You’re healed now.” Sari said. Her voice choked up when her friend made no response. Blurr gave her a long look, begging her to try again.

“Bumblebe, please! Please wake up!” Sari begged, trying to choke back the tears of disappointment. Had everything she been through been for nothing? She had had Bumblebee’s spark in the palm of her hand and now it was gone!

Blurr finally seemed to admit defeat and bowed his head, optics darkened with grief for his fallen friend. Sari, filled with hopeless despair, bowed her head on Bumblebee’s chest and, saddened and enraged by the unfairness of it all, curled her hand into a fist and brought it down with a soft thud on Bumblebee’s armor.

Almost instantly, Bumblebee’s spark chamber erupted to life and bleak grey was replaced with stunning black and gold. Both Sari’s and Blur’s eyes and optics flew open with surprise when the sound of engines starting filled the air and, all of the sudden, Bumblebee’s wheels started spinning. Just like when Sari had revived Bumblebee once before, the young bot tried to take off, but this time, it ended with him slamming into Blurr and Sari and tackling them to the ground in a tangle of organic and robotic limbs.

Ignoring the bruises and dents covering them, Blurr and Sari stood up and stared in stunned amazement as Bumblebee sat up and rubbed his head, wincing at the large dent caused by ramming into Blurr.

“Ow, some wake up call.” He turned and noticed Sari and Blurr standing a few feet away and gaping at him. He blinked his blue optics and tilted his head curiously.

“Hey Sari! What are you doing here? And Blurr, why aren’t a cube anymore?”

Bumblebee’s voice brought the pair out of their state of shock.

“BUMBLEBEE!” came their joyous cry and, ignoring Bumblebee’s squeak of surprise, they tackled him to ground, their arms wrapping around him in a hug. The trio’s smiles and laughter of happiness filled the dark chamber like sunshine after a storm as the three friends were finally reunited once more.

I liked the idea of having Bumblebee's awakening being similar to that of his when Sari revived him in the first episode. See? Hitting a broken machine DOES get it to work.:XD: Forget tech support!

Oh, and don't worry, there's still some more pics on the way. Don't think I've forgotten about Shocky did ya?;P

I love the image up there. And how compassionate Sari is to her fellow Autobots. It's what making her a good burden bearer for the Matrix of Promises, which can contain the sparks of lost ones and those close to going offline. My OC Thermocline was the first and he passed it over to Sari when he knew the time was right.

*sniff* I'm actually getting a little emotional right now! Like myself Thermocline has a very tender spark, it's what makes him so lovable and caring for his fellow Autobots and Shattered Glass Decepticons. In fact Sari actually had a few tears of joy run down her face when he took quite a few shots for her. He sees himself as a shield for those he cares about and that includes Sari.
